MCCH52 is currently admitting patients with pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The volume of diagnostic and therapeutic measures rendered to patients and the hospital stay duration are determined and coordinated by Russian Ministry of Health, following the latest guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and in accordance to MCCH52 internal protocols developed by the interdisciplinary team of the hospital leading specialists.
Each COVID-19 case requires an individual diagnostic and treatment plan due to the diversity of the clinical manifestations of the disease and the variable severity of the infection course.
Most hospitalized patients will need the administration of oxygen therapy, therefore we have upgraded the oxygen supply system into all our COVID-19 departments. At the moment we can offer a whole range of respiratory support options, such as low-flow and high-flow oxygen therapy, mechanical lung ventilation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)). The ECMO is a vital life-saving option in a number of cases when a patient does not respond to the mechanical lung ventilation.
Additionally, multispiral computed tomography (MSCT), echocardiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and laboratory diagnostics are available to all inpatients daily round the clock.
As the COVID-19 epidemic situation is improving in Moscow, our hospital (MCCH52) has resumed elective admissions for renal patients.
